Magic Carpet

I love it when I have old pieces that I haven't worn together before, and suddenly it hits me one day - YO - wear THIS with THAT and throw in THOSE, and it'll all be good. Tis how this outfit came together. But what ELSE do you love, Shannan? I'm pretty sure you're asking that. Well, I'll tell you. This rug from World Market:

I am pretty sure I need it in my life. Or at least, in my living room. I currently have an old zebra striped West Elm area rug there, but it is dingy and sad. My curtains are peacock silk dupioni panels - LOOOONG, cuz my windows are heee-youge. I have it in my head that I need an area rug with orange as the dominant color, hence the one above. Of course, the husband thinks it's too expensive (he has no idea we could pay in the thousands of dollars for an area rug, poor lamb).

This is what happens when two of my kids wake up early. They get to be in my OOTD pics in their jammies. Simon is resplendent in orange muscle tee and plaid flannel pants. And THIS is another choice for area rug (nice segueway, huh)?

I like it, I just don't LOVE it like the first option.

And Gavin in HIS jammies...

I LOVE this option, but the husband doesn't like it at ALL. Sads.

Hamming it up for the boys.

Another option - just not quite convinced it's the right one. But THIS guy, he's all right with me:

So what say you? Which option do you prefer between the rugs above? Are there any other places I should be looking besides World Market, Rugs USA and Overstock? Has anyone ever purchased an area rug from eBay? Fill me in if so. And happy Monday, yo.

Sweater/Tank: Old Navy
Pants: TJ Maxx
Boots: Target
Short Necklace: TJ Maxx
Long Necklace: F21
Belt: Old Navy

Merci,
Shannan

Love the look and the boots!

You are motivating me to try take OOTD pics, a new follower of your blog.

Love the outfit and I'm partial to the first rug myself. We're finishing our basement and I thought an area rug would be perfect down there. Thanks for doing some of the research for me!

FYI: I think your accessories this morning were the cutest you've ever put with an outfit. ;o)
