Last Wednesday hit, and Gavin started running a fever, coughing and sniffling. Then Scarlett. Then 3 a.m. Thursday morning, Simon woke up with a horrible croup, so we brought him downstairs, ran a hot, steamy shower and sat in the bathroom with him until he stopped barking.
All day Thursday at work, I sneezed and blew my nose and zombied my way through my tasks so I could get HOME. Not rest, of course, since everyone was still sick (except for Tom). Friday and Saturday brought on a raw, sandpaper throat so I went to Walgreen's Take Care Clinic - no strep THANK HEBBINS.
Fast forward to Sunday morning, and I'm sitting here typing this sneezing my arse off but at least my throat is not still sore. I have never drunk so much green tea with ginger, green tea with lemon, gargled with salt water, etc. etc.
And I can't help but think - at least we didn't all have the stomach virus again, so anything compared to that hell is a piece of cake. Here's hoping the kids are feeling better when they wake up today.
And here's hoping YOU ALL start off your Monday feeling swell.
