Lordy but it has been a WHILE since I've done a FBFF link up with ModlyChic. I'm in the Christmas spirit though, so imma join in and share the Christmas quiz witcha. Feel free to spout off your own answers in the comments, peeps.
No holiday party is complete without: In my family? A shit-ton of food, apparently, and none of it healthy.
My favorite Christmas song/album: Religious - O Holy Night; Non-religious, I have a few: Happy Xmas, War is Over, John Lennon; Merry Christmas Everybody, Slade; Same Auld Lang Syne, Dan Fogelberg; All I Want For Christmas Is You, Mariah Carey (I know, I don't believe it either). If we're talking albums, The Vince Guaraldi Trio's Charlie Brown Christmas is the BEST.
My favorite seasonal recipe: Butternut Squash and Pecan Gratin with Goat Cheese. In fact, I will be putting one together today to take to our extended family Christmas tomorrow. You're welcome, Holly.
The perfect New Year's Eve outfit includes: Sequins. duh.
At the parties, I'll be drinking: YES
Eggnog, good or bad? The drink of SATAN.
Did you ever take pictures on Santa's lap at the mall? Yup
Gingerbread Latte or Peppermint Mocha: Neither. Instead, I'll take a Grande nonfat one-raw-sugar-latte, please.
Worst gift I ever got: Almost anything from my mom. She is of the "I do not shop from Wish lists!" (or registries, for that matter), and instead, likes to do her shopping in the clearance section of the store the year prior. Makes for some craptastic gifts. It's like she feels like she HAS to get something, but does it grudgingly, so just gets whatever is cheapest. All-weather-picnic-blanket? Ummmm, no thanks.
Best gift I ever received: I don't know that I have ever received a "best" gift. I have received some great gifts, but none I would put at the pinnacle of the list.
If I could only buy all my gifts from one place, I'd shop at: West Lake Hardware. KIDDING! I kid...I'm a kidder....Guh - this is a toughie. In pretend land where Shannan had all the money in the world, it'd probably be Anthropologie. In the real world - Target.
Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer or Frosty the Snowman: Rudolph - claymation RULES
My favorite holiday memory: Spending Christmas crammed into my grandparents' very small house with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. I specifically remember one Christmas Eve, and I was sharing a bed with one of my aunts (EVERYONE was sharing a bed with someone), and I was very concerned because I wasn't at home, and how would Santa know where I was, and my aunt assured me that Santa ALWAYS knew where everyone was, and he would bring my presents to my grandma's house. And she was right!
(Nothing says Christmas like a carton of smokes)
My favorite Christmas movie: A Christmas Story. Or White Christmas. Or Love, Actually.
The best part about holiday decorations is: This year, it was putting them up with The Trips for the first time. Our trees aren't very pretty this year, but I still love them.
Rip off the wrapping paper or neatly pull off the tape: RIP. THAT. SUCKER. OFF.
Miracle on 34th Street or It's a Wonderful Life: It's a Wonderful Life
It doesn't feel like the holiday season until: Thanksgiving is over
All I want for Christmas is: a YSL arty oval ring
Have a great weekend, ho ho ho!
