Let's talk turkey. It has been waaaayyy too long since a good red carpet recap, so thank you, MET Gala, for allowing this opportunity. Let's begin, shall we?
Christina Ricci in Zac Posen - Girlfriend BROUGHT. IT. If there is anyplace that is appropriate to bring a hint of cray-cray, it's the MET Gala, and that's why this simple lil number is my favey fave of the night. It's beautiful and slightly weird, just like Mz. Ricci herself. Buh-nanans.
Brooklyn Decker in Michael Kors - Annnnd then you have the opposite of the spectrum, yet equally pleasing to my ocular orbs. This is Barbie-pink, Michael Kors perfection.
J Lo in Gucci - I can't believe I like this either, but I do. I'd prolly like it more wivout the foofy shrug, but even that doesn't kill it for me. The color is amazing on her, and I like the intricately-tied bodice.
Anna Wintour in Chanel Haute Couture - Well well welllll - looky there - the Devil apparently also wears Chanel Haute Couture. No matter - I LOVE this dress.
Demi Moore in Prabal Gurung - the GOOD side of Black Swan. Does this woman EVER FRIGGING AGE????
Diane Kruger in Jason Wu - I don't always love what Diane does, but step aside Christian Siriano, cuz this. is. FIERCE.
Ginnifer Goodwin in Topshop - I have seen other people slamming her for wearing Topshop to the MET, but the troof is G-Money looks SMOKIN here, low-rent or not. I am not loving her hurr, but that dress is amazeballs.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney
SJP in McQueen
Rosario Dawson in DVFI think we have established on several previous occasions that I LOOOOVE a sequined, beaded column dress. My eyeballs do not hate ANY of the above three dresses.
Michelle Williams in Miu Miu - Her style is usually a bit too twee for me, but I am loving the birdyness of this dress. Avianalicious.
Lelee Sobieski in Vionnet - This girl is still around? Huh - who'd have thunk?! Simple. Grecian. Perfection.
The I'm Not So Sure
Iman in Stella McCartney - Well, if anyone can pull off a sequined jumpsuit, it's a woman with only one moniker.
K-Stew in Prouenza Schouler - Meh. Just looks too stiff, too wide, too SOMETHING. Her makeup looks pretty though.
Mary Kate Olson in vintage Givenchy - I love that she is wearing vintage, but wish this was a little more fitted. It just looks like she's playing dress-up in someone's clothing that doesn't fit.
Ashley Olson in vintage Christian Dior Haute Couture - Again, love that she's wearing vintage, and I love the drama of the poufy sleeves, but there is just something off that I can't quite pinpoint.
Eva Mendez in Stella McCartney - I want to love this, I really do. I think the color looks amazing on her, and like the general silhouette, but wish it were a bit closer to her body. It makes her look WAY wider than she is.
The HAIL to the Nah
Christina Hendricks in Carolina Herrera - Woman - GET A STYLIST. Seriously. It's time. I didn't even know Carolina Herrera could make a dress that looked like this. Did she roll in an oil slick before the event? Did she attend a Real Housewives "stomping of the painting" party? Ugh.
Daphne Guinness in Alexander McQueen - Daphne always brings the crazy. She's like a socialite Lady Gaga. I can appreciate a feather as much as the next guy - maybe even more - but this is too much for even me.
Fergie in Marchesa - 1991 called and wants its wedding dress back.
Hailee Steinfeld in Stella McCartney - I do NOT love the mullet dress. The end.
Frieda Pinto in Chanel Haute Couture - This is like the Duckie version of a prom outfit to Molly Ringwald's dress in Pretty In Pink. Not. Loving. Get rid of the tie and we'll talk.
