WWD: Ikat Believe It!

Day two of 70s-inspiration week continues, and just so I can play along on Everybody Everywear, I made today maxilicious. Got this skirt at F21 during my romantic weekend with The Hubs (until I got the BEJEEZUS scurred out of me at the movies), and here's a fun fact: whilst we were walking to said scurry movie, my favorite flat gladiator sandals from Tar-jay a year or two ago broke.
Maxi Skirt/Dress | Everybody, Everywear
(Click above to see everybody else's entries...)
Like, the strap between my toes just came out, so even though the strap was done around my ankle, the FRONT was flapping like a flip-flop, and I was tripping all over the street looking like a fekkin eejit, but thankfully said maxi was so long it covered me stupid sandals. Thank the hebbins we were right outside of Urban Outfitters, so I flop-stumbled my way up the steps and through the store to the shoes, and replaced my beloved glads with some that were NOT as beloved. Sigh.

I mean, they're okay, but they're more like the Robin to the Batman of shoes. The Skipper to the Barbie. The Skipper to the Gillian even. The Rhoda to the Mary. The Dyna-Girl to the Electra Woman. If you don't know who Electra Woman and Dyna Girl are, a) I feel sorry for you, and 2) I am too damn old.

And yes, that IS Deidra Hall (aka Marlena from Days of Our Lives). Dayum, she purty.

Anyhoo, enough talk about me, let's talk about ME some more. Specifically, my skirt. Surrsly, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but as soon as I put it on I had compliments left and right. Okay, TWO girls complimented me on it, but one was the shoe girl at UO, so maybe she just felt sorry for me.

Never mind about that - I love it. That ikat print maketh me thwooon, I don't even mind admitting it. And you can't know this from a photo, but hear me now and believe me later when I tell you this top is the SOFTEST top ever. EVER, I TELL YOU!

Sadly, it looked even cuter this weekend than it does now, because I was wearing a slouchy black tank with it that is PERFECTION with it, but alas, did not have The Hubs take any photos. Sads. I didn't feel like I could wear the tank to work (at least wivout a jacket), so I subbed out the tee. REST ASSURED, dear readers, that I will be wearing the tank with the skirt about eleventy five beeelllion times this summer. I'm going to wear it like it's my job (much like my niece and nephews who were in town last weekend and put together Legos like it was their job - those kids were Lego WIZARDS). You will see it eventually. Oh yes, you will, along with my Dyna Girl sandals. I couldn't forget those, now could I?

EDIT:
On my way out the door I grabbed a jacket because it was a bit cool out, and really liked the outfit with it, sooooo I grabbed el camera and took a few pics at work too. Sorry for the photo heavy post today, but the lighting is WAY better in the office. Hmmm....mayhaps I should ALWAYS take them here...

Good experience with etsy? I have yet to purchase anything..I am such a touch and feel kind of shopper..but I have come across a few etsy shops that I just might have to try. Going to check out this one now.
Have a great week girlie.

Carly - Yup, I have bought a few things on etsy from various sellers and thus far have had all good experiences. This particular shirt was hand-made so it took a bit longer to get than other things I've gotten, but it was worth it!

Pam - glad you found MBB and enjoy it - come back anytime!

Bre - yes, wasn't that coincidental that I just HAPPENED to be walking near UO? Happy chance!

Style - thank you, and AMEN, sister! Some say "there's always room for Jello," but me? It's more like "there's ALWAYS room for new SHOOOOOES!"

Nicole - DAMN YOU, Cameo!!!! I am so bummed!!!!

blahblah,
Shan

POOR SHOES! WAAH! At least your skirt is still amazeballs. So there's that! I like you.
And yes, you can have my hair. It doesn't get washed very often, but it's practically new. I barely use it.
