WWD: Goin to California In My Miiiiind

This is what I see in my mind:

This is what I see when I open my front door:

I long for this:

I have this:

Dream of this when life gets too stressful:

Look at the window into the backyard at this after the storm:

Good GAWD I'm missing California. Can you blame me after a day's worth of blizzard? It's beautiful in its own way, but Lord have mercy, it's a crazy-maker. So I'll keep dreaming of this, listen to music that reminds me of sunny skies (Coldplay and The Garden State soundtrack, for whatever reason),
and dress like I'm getting ready to hit the shops in Laguna. Minus the sweatery boots, of course.

New cicada earrings from Modcloth that I. LOVE. And yes, that is a harp behind me.

Shirt: Tucker for Target

I take that as a COMPLIMENT! If only I had been wearing my gold pumps when I took my photos!

Wow, is this post after my own heart or what? I could definitely stand a Corona Del Mar sunset right about now. Thanks for the shot of sunshine!

Jenny - I am going to pretend you did not say it's 60 degrees where you are, considering we just watched the weather and it is going to be between -10 and -20 tonight. Lovely.

Brittney - what you did not see was me almost falling on my a$$ trying to get that shot. I have TERRIBLE balance. Still, I would accept a punch in the mouth from someone who willingly called me adorable.

Carrie - I did get your e-mail and am planning SOMETHING, though I have no idea what yet. Except that it may incorporate some sort of portable heating device.

Noe - Oh Corona del Mar, why are you sooooo faaaar awaaaaay????? Marie - feel free to join Noe and me in our beachy reverie.

You look super hot in that outfit. Good for you for wearing shorts even after that wretched storm! You show that weather who's boss!

I am SUCH a fan of your blog and have shared it with several GF's that I know read it all the time, but like me, never comment. BAD BAD BAD! So, today, I am sharing some cyber love (as part of a 40 things in 40 days before turning 40 project) with you and say "great job, keep it coming, you make me laugh my ass off and snort out my coffee almost every dang morning!

(Fave post to date is the Menses one. HI LARIOUS. Any mom can so relate...)

Linda - thank you! I believe I DID show that storm who was boss. Huddled in my shorts and boots, shivering under a blanket.

Amy - SO GLAD that you commented!!! I love to hear that people enjoy what we're doing. Thank you so much - your comment totally made my day. And this is so sad that I have to ask, but are you talking about the Feeling Euphamistic post from last week? I talk about so many unsavory things, that I just thought - huh, maybe there's ANOTHER menses post that slipped my mind...

Mwah!

Yes, it was the Feeling Eupemistic post I was referring to. I just re-read it and about peed myself again (but really, after having -2- kids this is a common occurrence. Gdamn Kegels, they just don't do enough!)
Happy, Happy to have made your day with the comment!

Here's a fashion-y question: the Old Navy tuxedo stripe khakis you wear so well - I am thinking you sized way up for a looser fit? I just saw they are on clearance online for $8. I bought the black/grey stripe color combo but in my normal size and they are more of a cigarette type fit. What's the deelio on yours? Size up? Do tell, por favor.

What a cute "California outfit!" I'm a California girl and, while not in Southern California, we are enjoying beautiful 70 degree weather.

Amy - I think I did size up, only because they were very cigarette pants-ish, and I felt like if they shrank at all when I washed them they would've been too tight. In the post where I have them on I hadn't washed them yet. In fact, I still haven't, so I'll make sure to do another post after I wash and wear to see if the fit is any different. I say YES to the $8 price tag. That's what I paid for them too!
