WWD: Blockbuster

I was editing my photos this morning (what, you don't think you get professional looking photos like these wivout a little help from Picnik, do you - AHEM....) and noticed that my ensemble today is really just the 1987 uniform from Blockbuster with a lot of flair.

Chambray button-down? Check. Khaki pants? Check check.

(just seconds before this photo was snapped, I was pulling my brawrstrap up, hence the sheepish grin)

Seriously, Blockbuster ain't got NOTHIN on me. Take THAT, failing movie rental company. Yo Blockbuster, I don't know if you're aware, but you can rent a movie from RedBox for ONE BUCK a day. You may want to think about dropping your exorbitant rental prices. I'm just sayin...
And when I'm done working at Blockbuster, I can change into my comfy loafers and motor to the mall for my second job at Bennigan's.

Let's get serious here for a minute though - I was perusing Kendi Everyday last night and debating whether or not to try her winter 30 for 30 challenge, and I came to the conclusion that I would not be able to do it. I rully, rully don't think I could limit my jewreys down enough. I think it would be easier limiting my clothing choices rather than my jewelry. To those of you who have participated, what did you find the most difficult? Let's not even talk about the not shopping for 30 days rule. I have done extraordinarily well for ME not shopping. I'll be honest - I HAVE shopped since I made my resolution not to, but it has been with gift cards, so I don't think that counts, does it?

And I would like to take a moment to say that with the JC Penny gift card that The Hubs gave me, I went on my lunch hour yesterday, just after they had marked racks and racks of clothing down to $3.97 each. THREE DOLLAH NINETY SEVEN CENTS EACH. With my g.c. I scored eight shirts and sweaters (including the resplendent chambray number above). Dudes - if ya'll have a Penny's in your 'hood, I highly recommend checking them out in the next day or two - they have some CUTE stuff.

What's not so cute? The socks with these shoes, but YO, we're supposed to get SEVEN INCHES of snow, so I had to suck it up and dress warmly, and in a manner that won't cause me to fall on my arse walking in to work. Oh, I'm taking my big furry snow boots too, just in case. That's just the kind of person I am. Always prepared. Do you think I have learned NOTHING at Blockbuster and Bennigan's? Now may I take your order? I highly recommend the loaded potato skins.

I'll take the chili cheese homefries, please, extra chili. And cheese.

Love this Blockbuster uniform! Most especially love the scarf. And along the uniform lines, whenever I see someone wearing a red top with khaki trou, I always think of one place: Target!

I don't think jewelry is included in the 30 for 30...so maybe it's possible!

I'm seriously considering doing the 30 for 30. Jewelry isn't included - you can do it!

DOH! Maybe I'll have to sign up for the challenge then, if jewelry isn't included! Now I just have to talk myself into shopping celibacy...

I'll definitely take an order of the potato skins... I kid, I kid.

Girl, you don't have to include accessories in your 30! Only shoes and clothes. Outerwear and accessories are freebie! DO IT!
