This past week I came across The Little Black List - a new blog to me - and spent the better part of an evening going back through almost every single post. Girlfriend ROCKS some vintage clothing like no one else. She admittedly has a sequin obsession, and has one of the SICKEST collections of jewelry on the interwebs. After going through her blog post by post, it made me think about the insane amount of fabulous, stylish people in blogland, so I decided to make a list of those bloggers who are the most inspirational to me. If you haven't heard of them, check them out, and let me know who inspires YOU most.
Number one on my list?
The Glamourai, hands down. Girlfriend has an uncanny knack for mixing vintage, which she reworks many times to fit herself and her lifestyle, lower-end (Target, thrift), with designer pieces, and what she ends up with is completely unique and ab-fab. I am constantly inspired by the way she mixes patterns, prints, textures, and decades.
B. Jones Style - Again, another example of a master in the art of mixing hi/low, vintage/thrift/new, and pattern pattern pattern. I mean. Check out the way she mixed two vintage pieces above, completely different, crazy patterns that somehow look like they were MADE to go together. Like two great tastes that taste great together.
Atlantic Pacific - This woman knows how to accessorize, dammit, and she's not afraid to do it. I also loooove how she changes her hair to use it to accessorize as well. If I thought I could get away with the fab bee-hivey bun that she is sporting above, I would do it in a heartbeat.
The Little Black List - Okay, let's forget for a minute that the girl may have the best. hair. on the interwebs (is it wrong that I would like to pet it, just once? I promise - LBL - I say that in the most NON-stalkery way possible). Let's forget about the fact that she is wearing little boy's pants above that look completely chic, and like they could have come off the runway; let's forget that she cut the tee to crop it herself; that she is so effortlessly fabulous; let's focus instead on her INTHANE jewelry collection. Guh. Seriously. LBL layers vintage rhinestone necklaces, ethnic bangles, YSL rings, and anything else she finds seemingly all at once, AND IT WORKS. She has totally inspired me to try it myself. Love love love the look. Decadent and rich and amazing.
I had a hard time narrowing down the fifth spot on my list, so you get them both:
Saucy Glossie - Oh my Lord - if ONLY my local T.J. Maxx and Marshall's had the frigging DEALS that Saucy has scored. I don't even believe the designers she digs up there sometimes. The Meghan Fabulous jacket above? The Maxx. Kansas City T.J. Maxx - WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING THINGS LIKE THIS????? Step it up, people!!!
Where Did U Get That - this hippie chick from the other side of the pond has legs a mile long, and a collection of platforms to showcase them. She wears anything from minis to maxis and, vintage to new, and is amazing in them all. Karen - if you ever tire of that kimono dress you're wearing above, CALL ME.
For me, the one constant in the fabulosity above is their mix of hi/low, and vintage/new. It's what I appreciate most, because it just underscores the fact that you CAN use what is already in your closet and still end up with a funky fresh, dope, kicka$$ look that chances are no one else will be wearing.
So let's hear it, who is YOUR biggest inspiration in blogland?
