WWD: Rewind

I thought I'd go back through the archives and look at some of my favorite ensembles, not only so we can ALL enjoy them togeva (ahem) but more so that I can remember what I put togeva wif what in the old wardrobe. I try everyday to put together clothing in a way that I haven't done it before because ...durrr...I'm posting them on here, and I figure you don't want to see something that you've seen before, but the troof is, I DO wear the same things overandover (my skinny jeans, skinny cargos, grey shirt with cutout shoulders). It's a catch 22 - I love mixing and matching my items and writing this blog, but at the same time I feel compelled to always be on the hunt for that item which is going to COMPLETE my wardrobe. As if. I have been better lately about thrifting, which is good, but let's face it, I'm also in The Maxx and Marshalls and Target a lot too.

(Sequin jacket: Macy's; Grey cutout shoulder top: T.J. Maxx; Skinny cargos: Marshalls; Shoes: Target)

One thing I realized in looking back through all my photos was that I think I prefer a silhouette that is skinny bottoms with tee and jacket on top (though I didn't put all of those photos here). I just think it's a clean, classic look that takes pretty minimal effort to put together when you throw on some bling or a cool piece of statement jewelry. I also have noticed that I get more positive comments when I'm staying more simple, than when I mix and match crazy patterns.

(Jacket: F21; Shirt: Marshall's; Jeans: Old Navy; Shoes: Target; Bling: Local boutique)

This is one of my very verrrrry favorite looks, and I need to bust it out again soon.

(Shirt: T.J. Maxx; Skirt: The Limited; Shoes: DSW; Necklace: Arden B.; Cuffs: F21)
Again, pretty simple components - pencil with a tee, but the details on them (polka dots with cutout shoulders) elevate them a bit (in my humble opinion).

(Dress: Tucker for Target; Shirt and Skirt: F21; Boots: Thrifted; Necklaces: Charming Charlies and Thrift; Cuffs: F21; Belt: Clothing Swap)
Here are somma dose crazy patterns that I love - stripes with diamond with paisley. I love mixing patterns (Team Mondo all the way here - sniff, sniff sniffle sniff...), but it's definitely not everyone's cuppa tea. I think it's one of those things you either love or hate.
(Dress: Thrift; Belt: Target; Necklace: Vintage from eBay; Shoes: ZooShoo)

Gotta love a khaki shirt dress (espesh when it's less than 5 dollah to make you hollah). I only wish it was button down all the way so I could wear it open over something else, like a light trench. Ah well, as a wise person once said, "Wish in one hand and sh!t in the other, and see which fills up fastest."

(Jacket: Clothing swap; Tee: Target; Jeans: me sis; Shoes: Thrift; Cuffs, F21; Scarf: me sis)

Tho thimple, tho chic, tho comfy. Loves.

(Dress: Dillard's; Faux Fur Vest: Rachel Zoe for QVC; Boots: ZooShoo; Necklace: World Market)

Happy accident. I love this dress - it's comfy and a bit slouchy and sweatery perfect, but it just wasn't enough OOOMPFH when I put it on. On the way out I threw the vest over it and VOILA (or VOILE - if you're a seamstress and that is your favorite fabric).

(Shirt: Thrift; Kimono sweater: Garage sale; Jeans: Old Navy; Shoes: Charlotte Russe; Necklace: Garage sale, thrift, F21)

Okay, I know I've said this before, but this really really REALLY is one of my favorite outfits I've put together in the past few weeks. I can't tell you how much I love this shirt - the pattern is ridic, and the kimono sweater? My current favorite purchase. I lit-er-ally wear it every single day. I'm wearing it with a tee and sweats as I type this. So freaking comfy cozy that I can't believe it. To emphasize to Amy how much I love it - it's the baked sweet potato of clothing items.
(Shirt: F21; Skirt: The Limited: Cardi: Don't remember; Belt: don't remember; Shoes: DSW)

I L-O-V-E the pattern mix here, but this never got a ton of comments, so I may be the only one who loved it. That's okay - I still love it and will wear it again.
(Dress: Thrift; Shoes: Steve Madden via T.J. Maxx; Necklaces; Thrift; Bracelets: Macy's, F21; Belt: Clothing Swap)

Another favorite thrifted item. The print on this dress is sick sick sick. Also love how the cutouts on the shoe mimic the polka dot pattern on the dress - you can't really see it here, but trust. They do.

Hope you weren't bored to tears looking back wif me. Happy Friday and all.

Merci!
Shan

That polka dot skirt and the little dress in the last photo...sccrrrrumptious! Just like Mondo's polka dot dress...which in my humble opinion, was one of the best pieces of the show. And I'm not just saying that because I'm from Colorado. Michael Kors and Nina Garcia = blah blah! I may NEVER forgive them!!

P.S. Your leopard sweater, red shirt and polka skirt ensemble, LUBS it!
