WWD: Burrrrrrberry

I know I have posted this outfit before (during the summer that dragged on waaaay too long in 100 degree temps and I was LONGING for fall and chilly weather), but I changed it up a bit, and I'm actually wearing it today, rather than dressing up, so I figured I'd post it again. Sue me.

The chillier weather reminded me of an e-mail I sent to Amy back in the days of yore - July 25, 2006 if you MUST know. And yes, I keep our e-mails for that long, Ames. If they're funny, or sappy, or funny. Anyhoozle, I thought this e-mail was appropriate for an actual fall day.

And.....SCENE: For some reason today, I was thinking about this one time when I was a kid that makes me so happy, or content or something - when I think about it- that I almost want to cry. It's weird. It's nothing really - I just remember one day in early fall when I was probably in the fifth grade. I was a Camp Fire Girl, and had been out selling candy in the neighborhood. It was a grey, rainy day, and it was late in the afternoon. I had just gotten home, dad had just gotten home from work, and mom was making dinner. I remember sitting on the couch in our living room reading "A Wrinkle In Time" by myself while dad watched the news in the other room and Jen was doing Lord only knows what. What I remember was the light from the lamp was so YELLOW, and it was just starting to get a little dark out, and it was so GREY out, and I was trying to get warm while mom finished getting ready for dinner. That memory just leaves such an intense feeling of nostalgia/sadness and happiness all at the same time.

Annnd of course, here's Amy's response: "Dang, that to make me cry. It's almost like I was there. Wait, am I you and you are me?"
Ohhhhh, Amy Bo Bamy. As they say in one of the best chick flicks of all time - Steel Magnolias - you know I love you more'n my luggage. (The scene with Sally Field at the grave talking about her hair looking like a brown football helmet makes me cry - like SOB - every. single. frigging. time I see it. I mean, WHO wants to have hair that looks like a brown football helmet? DOH! No, for reals - I DO cry every time).

I also love fall. And scotch. I love scotch. Scotchy scotch scotch. Here it goes, down, down into my belly. And Anchorman, I love Anchorman. And new shoes (duh). And granola. And the smell of gasoline. And rainbows and roses, and whiskers on kittens.

And reality TV. And Bob Harper. Especially Bob Harper. Ooooh, and Jon Hamm, even though I've never seen Mad Men. And the smell of bacon and coffee and my mom's spaghetti sauce. And being sore the day after a good workout. And my shiner, because I think it makes me look like a teensy bit of a badass.

Except for when I'm posing like Count Dorkula in the middle of my kitchen.

Oh yeah, I also love Russell Brand, the Young Ricky Gervais. I love Ricky Gervais too. But most of all, I love being random.

Random fact, there are two counties here in Georgia side by side named "Bacon" and "Coffee" hand to God. My personal favorite county is "Butts" because they have a lovely water tower that says in big loopy script "Welcome to Beautiful Butts County" Makes my day every time I see it!
