WWD: Vintagelicious

I have been so inspired lately to go thrifting, and found this dress yesterday at the Family Thrift here in town. Immediately fell in love with it. I mean - what's not to love? Crazy bright 70s patterns, buttons down the front that can be left open so I can wear it as a jacket over something else, and the best thing of all - IT FITS. The sad thing is that I saw a COOL, long orange wool jacket that was lined in a fabric very similar to this one - uh-MAZING - but it was enormous. Don't think I didn't think about taking it to a tailor, but it was so large I can't imagine what I would've paid, and who knows if it could even have been tailored down that much without losing the integrity of the jacket. Ah well...

Necklatheth - the longer one is thrifted, the shorter one, F21. Belt a la ladieth night swap a rama lama ding dong. I wanted to wear a few pieces (belt and bracelets) that were natural and neutral (well, as natural as fake leather can be) to ground this crazy dress a little, espesh since I knew I wanted to wear my crazy blue shoes with it.

Wooden bracelets, Old Navy and Macy's.

Edit: Here's a question for all you vintage/thrift shoppers - WHO IN THE WORLD IS BUYING THE USED GRANNY PANTIES AT THE THRIFT STORE????? Seriously - I stare in amazement everytime I see it, and it ALWAYS seems to be the largest possible granny panties that have ever been made. I can see possibly getting pajamas or a cool bed jacket or robe, but I have to draw the line at undergarments and swimsuits....

Dear Shan,

I so hope you deloused this last night when you got home. This is my new favorite and I can't wait until you send it to me. Thank you in advance.

Now, about the oversized unmentionables at the thrift. I mean REALLY people. If times are that tough then I'm pretty sure you can at least get your panties at the Dollar store. They may or may not be less toxic from there and probably are hella scratchy but at least they are unworn.

That is all.

Blah blah,

Come on now - you should know me better than that - of COURSE I washed it last night (or warshed, for some of my extended family from southwest Missouri who may have found their way to my blog). The granny panties that I picked up, well, that's another story. I like to leave them in their natural state.

I just vommed in my mouth a little....
