It's Independence Day weekend - let's get stuffed! Okay, maybe that's just me. I thought I'd kick things off with this Chuao Firecracker dark chocolate bar that includes chipotle, sea salt, and Pop Rocks. Dasssright, I said Pop. Rocks. Oh my hell, I don't know if I have ever said this before, but Thank You Wal Fart for introducing me to this. I have never even LIKED dark chocolate before, but lately I can't seem to get enough. Highly recommend this. Trust.
Making these adult strawberry basil lemonade cocktails again this weekend (thank you This Free Bird for continuing to plan my every meal. My compliments to the Chef!). Seriously - girlfriend has some YUMMY recipes. I've already made this one and her Korean BBQ, and am making the Cheesy Frittata for dinner tonight.
Yesterday I thought - hmmmm, what better to make for 4th of July dessert than s'mores, but wanted to change things up a bit, so I thought - how bout s'mores pie? Enter Smitten Kitchen, maker of all things fabulous. Can't wait to try her recipe.
If you are not from Kansas City, you may not have heard of Christopher Elbow, our own Willie Wonka. He makes the BEST chocolate, hands-down, I have ever had. If you have never had them, well, I just feel sorry for you. Please go here to drool. Mr. Elbow has branched out recently to include artisinal ice creams to his repretoire, and I told The Hubs we WOULD be going this weekend, because I am dying for his Fleur de Sel Caramel, or Goat Cheese with Honey, or perhaps the Salted Pretzel. Guh. Check Glace for more drool-worthy flavas. Just don't blame me if you short-circuit your keyboard.
After all that? Well, this will be me at the gym:
