McLovin: Dirty Hair Halo

I came across Dirty Hair Halo this weekend, and was immediately excited by this girl's style. It's unique, funky, bohemian, accessible, and AFFORDABLE. There are fashion bloggers who completely inspire me: The Glamourai, Cupcakes & Cashmere, Corks & Caftans, and now, Dirty Hair Halo, among a TON of others. I think they all have very different styles, but one thing I have noticed is that they also mix high end and low end pieces in a way that is new. I ain't gonna lie - I don't have any $500 shoes (not that I wouldn't LOVE a pair of Pour la Victoire's or Louboutins), but I love to mix vintage with Target with Macy's with Marshall's with Urban Outfitters with garage sale/thrift.

I don't know - I've seen other blogs bashing fashion bloggers, and I guess I don't really get it. If you don't like it, don't go to the site, right? Live and let live. To each his own. C'est la vie. Que sera sera. Do unto others. Be careful of electricity...*** I suppose daily weardrobe diaries could be seen as narcissistic, but to me, my reason for doing it is to show that a) you can be a mom and NOT dress everyday in a Juicy tracksuit, and 2) at 41, it is okay to be trendy and stylish. I know by now that I can't wear things now that I could at 25, but I can reinterpret them so that they work for me.

Wow - I'm going to step down from my soapbox now, and say just enjoy the pics from Dirty Hair Halo. Girrrrlfriend ROCKS.

***This bit of advice was actually given to my sister by our mother the night before she left for college.
