Giveaway! Free Kittens!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! After sleepless nights, numerous tequila shooters and much wringing of hands, we FINALLY hit 100 followers. The "Holy Crap I Never Thought We'd See the Day" Giveaway is OPEN. As thanks to ye who follow, I wanted to do a little giveaway gift basket o goodness.

Starting today, please leave a comment telling us either....

a) the weirdest, most random factoid about yourself (Shan's: I have met and chatted with a serial killer, for realz - but that's a story for another day) (Ames here: wow...morbid town. Um, some people apparently can eat asparagus and not have the pee stank of death. I am not one of those people)

or

2) any brush with fame you have had (Shanz: the GORGEOUS Marlin Perkins from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom) (Ames: I cannot top that but one of the for real ones: backstage and afterparty with Depeche Mode. For funs: Ross Perot, Brian Boitano or the guy that played the sidekick to Walker Texas Ranger's own Chuck Freaking Norris. Jealous?).

So here goes, a few of our favorite things that will be going into a gift basket o goodness to the lucky weiner...errrr...winner...

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo book, first in the triolgy by Stieg Larsson. If you have not read it, DO IT. One of the best books I've read in ages. If you have read it and you're the winner, well, we'll discuss an appropriate replacement book. Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion - hands down the BEST beauty product I use. You. Will. Become. ADDICTED.

Ames: Shan is right. It's like Eyeball crack cocaine.

Starbucks gift card - do I REALLY need to 'splain this one?

Shan and I talked about some other faveys and decided to just do a Choose Your Own Adventure prize. So, $25 Gift Card to your choice of the above. Need some F21, Sephora or DSW action in your life? This is where you'll find it.

There may also be a few random surprise goodies thrown in for good measure, too.

The contest is only open to followers, so if you're not one yet, whatchooo waiting for? Sign up! Here's the dealio - leave a comment with your name, e-mail address, and your weirdest, most random fact or brush with fame. We will then draw the weiner via random number generator, the winner will be crowned KING OF THE FOLLOWERS, and a ticker tape parade will be thrown in their honor. Okay, screw the ticker tape parade - but they WILL receive said Gift Basket O Goodness.

You have until noon on Monday, July 26 to enter, and the winner will be announced on Tuesday the 27th. Now go forth and enter!

Merci,
Shannan and Amy

ohhh this is fun...

Weirdest, most random factoid...I'm not sure if this counts but last night I went 65mph on purpose, which totally blocked the car behind me in because he was being a jerk...I might have road rage but enjoyed it completely.

Yay Congrats!!

my brush with fame. I was in Vegas and was in the press area for a UFC fight (my ex was into ufc/friends with some peeps that got us good seats) and I was waiting for the ex to get out of the bathroom.

I saw this super duper tall dude walking towards me, staring at my boobs -they were more exposed than usual cause, you know, I was in Vegas. I was thinking, "this guy must play basketball." Then I recognized that it must be Shaquille Oneill because he had on a giant Superman bling bling necklace.I had just seen him on "Cribs" or I might not have figured this out. The ex came out of the bathroom, and his jaw dropped and he was all "Jenny, Shaq just checked out your boobs!"

I met Rachel Weisz, and her son Henry, several years ago and chatted over coffee in O'Hare.

Random factoid: my hair started turning gray at 8.

I'm pretty boring. I used to see lots of famous people out and about when I worked in NYC (Juliana Margolis - not spelled correctly, Simon Doonan, Halle Berry. I saw Joan Rivers years ago in London, my Mom chatted w/her. KC from KC and the Sunshine band stayed in our hotel during our honeymoon in hawaii - saw him everywhere) ,never talked to one though. I need to get out more - LOL! Congrats on 100 followers!!!! oh my little bro was on MTV's Parental Control recently as one of the alternate guys for this girl to date. That my friends, was super weird TV for me - LOL!

Whooooo hoooo! You made it!!

Ok, famous peeps: I met Larry the Cable Guy in Las Vegas at a poker table. He called me Britney Spears. Not sure what that was supposed to mean...hmmmmm.

Weird and random: I LOVE the smell of rain on cement or dirt and Murphys Oil Soap.

Congrats on your growing fan club!
xoxo!

I touched Leo DeCaprio's shoulder! I was wandering in Brentwood with a friend, I saw Leo (knew it was him immediately but had to be sure...so we followed him. from a distance. In a non-stalker way.). He was with another guy (it turned out to be Lukas Haas) and they walked into a... wait for it... video arcade. I was like oh... no way, it's not him. But of course we went in and followed him (again, from a distance). They played on one of those games built for two - not sure what it was. When he walked away from the game and I got closer, I tapped him on the shoulder to say congratulations (he had just been nominated for Blood Diamond). He wouldn't turn around, so I didn't push it. He didnt want to be found, I get it. He's taller than I thought, wore a grey sweater, jeans and a baseball hat and is super cute in person. That's my brush with A list greatness. :)

You guys are too awesome! I grew up in Socal and Vegas so there are lots of celeb sightings, but most memorable was Ben Affleck in a Vegas Club, he was quite off the wall high or drunk or both. lol

You know I follow you!

I was in a restroom in the Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans. I heard a louder than normal splash from a stall a couple over, then heard a woman with a pretty strong drawl say, "Oh Lord, I dropped my sunglasses in the commode."

When I walked out of my stall, I saw Jerry Hall, former model and ex-wife of Mick Jagger, standing at a sink trying to decontaminate her sunglasses. She was wearing a gorgeous suit and an amazing hat, and she just looked like glamour personified; seriously, she was easily the most elegant person I've ever seen in real life. She was very sweet and funny, laughing over her little mishap. (And ever since then, I've said "commode" instead of "toilet" -- it just sounds so much nicer!)

Two years ago I met Pat Monaghan of Train (Heeeeeeey soul sistah...) in this tiny little radio station performance and I told him my name was Beyonce. He was all "wow, that's so cool!" and I said, "oh no. not really." Awkward pause.

Congrats on the followers, I can't wait to WIN!

Matt practically poked Doogie's eye out with the umbrella in our hotel lobby about six years ago when he was in RENT on Broadway. I die now when I think about it (you simply MUST watch Glee) and Matt well he had no clue who he'd almost injured. There was a LOT of rain that trip and he also bumped into Edie Falco!

Random fact? Bruch with fame?

I used to work on movies/tv doing extra work, those people they use to fill up a scene. I once did a reenactment of The Wedding Crashers on Mad TV, which was random and fun...in undies!

I use to have this cool job authenticating signatures of famous people. I got to go to the sports and entertainment based trade shows. A few I have met are Pamela Anderson, Shaq, Muhammed Ali, Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, Troy Aikman...etc.

Brush with fame: I live in Dallas and used to go to the Galleria shopping mall often. Once, I saw the guy who played Larry (the neighbor) from Three's Company. And another time, I followed Paul Stanley (from KISS) from one end of the mall to the other, waiting for someone else to recognize him and verify it really was him. It finally happened outside Hastings Records (figures!).

Factoid about me: When I'm sitting down wearing no shoes, I always curl my toes under. My mom does it, too, and it drives my dad nuts.

ben affleck picked his zit in the mirror at my counter when i worked at barney's. no joke.
this was right after he walked in with j lo who was wearing the lowest jeans ever with the shortest top ever.

i seriously thought i was being punked.

oh, and there might be a story regarding a kiss from steven tyler......i'll save that one for your next contest (or girls night).

I hope some people enter after I, because the last entry Never wins.

I went to college with Emily Proctor of CSI Miami...we "ran in the same circles."

Random Factoid: I'm terrible at telling stories...But I'm great at throwing in one-liners!

I love your blog - you girls crack me up! I saw Val Kilmer shopping at FAO Swartz in NYC when I was there visiting. Me and my girlfriends stalked him until he left:)

My brush with fame: I grew up about three streets away from John Mayer's family. He's several years older than me, but went to the same high school, so I got to meet him when he randomly went back to visit before he got really famous but after his first album came out. I've also seen him driving around before during the holidays.

All in the same day, no lie, I saw Matt Damon (strangely short) and Conan O'Brien (ridiculously tall) waiting for my car at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons!

And I'll need to discuss at a later date that Melanie can still do the splits!!! WHAAAAAT? :)

I discovered your blog through Jill at The Good Life for Less blog when she started the "It" list. Love you guys so much!

My small brush with fame was meeting The Man in Black himself, Johnny Cash. I went on a trip with my parents back in 1995 to a music festival he was playing in British Columbia. We noticed a tour bus outside our hotel and decided to find out who it was. We knocked on the door and out came Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash. They were so nice - they took pictures and chatted with us for a while and let us peek into their tour bus too!

ran into Mike Tyson here in Columbus Ohio on the way to court (he was going for some sort of tax issue on his Cleveland home). I said hello to him and he stuck out his hand and said, "hello my friend!"

while i was sleeping in the middle of the night a couple guys broke into my house and closed the door to my hallway where my bedroom was at the end. i heard the door close and saw the dining room light come on from underneath. i had to let my cell charge to get a bar while i threw on some clothes and then escaped out the side door of my bedroom. it was the scariest freaking thing ever.

oh, and i also met and chatted with ben from felicity who accidentally walked into the women's bathroom b/c he was so nervous walking over to talk to me. major icebreaker. like a damned fool i didn't give him my number. can you say dumb ass???

Hot diggity dog, this is a good giveaway! I need new make-up BAD with a capital B. I was just realizing some of my makeup has been around since my first born was a baby. That's four years! Icky. So yeah, Sephora would be a good one for me!

Let's see, brushes with fame: Just a few weeks ago when I was in Mill Valley I was like two feet away from Dana Carvey (We're not worthy!) outside a restaurant. I've seen Mohammed Ali on a paddle boat at the Disneyland Hotel. Umm, Peggy Fleming at a grocery store in Los Gatos. *Scratching head* Who else?? Oh the head UFC dude, forgot is name-he is bald, while dining at Social House in Vegas a few years back. I saw a taping of Ellen once, so I saw her and her guests Minnie Driver and Heather Mills. That was back when she was on DWTS and she danced with her partner. Good times.

How exciting! I love this blog- it saves me from a lot of boredom at work!

Random factoid: I can touch my tongue to my nose.

Brushes with fame: Stephen Baldwin was in the boat behind me on the "It's a Small World" ride at Disneyland; I shared an elevator with Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe in Hawaii; talked to George Bush Sr. about the weather while standing in a hotel lobby , and most recently, I met the one and only Tim Gunn and (almost literally) ran into Chris Brown on the same day!
