Let's get one thing out of the way: I love layering my jewreys. I have a buttload of it, so why not wear several pieces at once? I don't conform to the theory to take one thing off before you leave the house. Uh-uh - not this girl (pointing to self). I have had someone ask "but how do you know what pieces to wear together? When I try to layer jewelry, it just looks like I didn't know which piece I wanted to wear so I wore them all."
Poysonally, I just pick pieces that have a common bond, i.e., the same metal (though I wouldn't be averse to mixing that up either if I liked the look), or the same theme (big chunky links, or in this case - tassles). I realized I had three tassle necklaces of differing lengths, and when I tried them on togeva, VOILA (or as I saw somewhere on the interwebs the other day - VIOLA), I liked the look. The tassles together just reminded me of lengths of rope - hence the sailor's knots.
All I'm saying, internet friends (or alls I'm saying, if you want to drive me to the brink of insanity) is that it's fashion - it's FUN. It ain't rocket science, peeps. If you like it, wear it! Unless, however, what you like are patterned flannel pajama pants and a giant Disney character tee shirt, and you are going out in public, in which case, please rethink.
Stripalicious tunic: B-day gift from SOMEONE....whooooo could it beeeee???? Oh, yeah, it's AMY (plus, that rhymes); black skinnies, no ideer - my sis sent them to me from Germany
