Stuff We Would Kiss On the Mouf: Christopher Elbow

Happy Valentine's Day To Me (durrrrr).....

I was not expecting anything other than a card for VD this year, so imagine my delight when I walked into our kitchen and saw a box of chocolates from my second favorite chocolatier (if you know me at all, you know my heart belongs to Willie Wonka), Christopher Elbow. If you have heard of him, that means you've probably been lucky enough to have sampled his delicacies, and know what the big effin deal is. If you have NOT heard of him, well, I feel sorry for you. He is from Kansas City, and has become a big deal in the chocolate world. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's what his business cards say "I'm a big deal in the chocolate world."

Just kidding, Mr. Elbow. I have no idea what your business cards say. If you ever decide to retire and give the chocolate factory to some lucky kid, please think of me....

Back to my story. Please take a gander at the ART that he creates. It is seriously beee-you-ti-ful.

Allow me to share some of my favorites with you. Not literally, because a) this is the computer, and 2. if you want some Elbow, get yo OWN damn Elbow, and keep yo hands off mine.

For realsies though - it is all good, but the caramel is my favorite hands (or elbow) down. I am not a big fan of the rock hard caramel that pulls out your crown, and this is NOT that. It is creamy, dreamy, salty and sweet. Hebbin. In the words of my good friend Natty Lite - BRING IT TO MY MOUF. And now, prepare yourself. Maybe grab a tissue to wipe the drool:

Bananas Foster: bananas and caramel flambeed with rum

Macadamia Praline (one of my new faves): caramelized macadamia nuts, milk chocolate and sea salt

Venezuelan Spice: dark chocolate ganache infused with a chili spice blend

Banana Curry: bananas spiced with exotic curry powder

Masala Chai: dark chocolate ganache infused with aromatic Indian spices and black tea

and my two faves in all the land:

Rosemary: caramel infused with locally grown rosemary (amazing and delicious)

Fleur de Sel: caramel infused with Grey French Sea Salt (holy cow it may be the best thing I have ever had in my mouth - GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER)

You can order Christopher Elbow on line, so I highly recommend trying it if you haven't before. Thank you, Mr. Elbow, for feeding my addiction!!!

Gasp! Why are you eating these and not me? (Other than the fact that I'm still working on my weight loss.) Yooo hooo, Christopher...we really do love you. See? We talk about you alll the time. And by "all the time" we mean "at least twice." Wouldn't favors for ladies' night be divine? Wouldn't free sample boxes be even better? Ahem.

Enjoy, Shan. Annnnd, maybe just freeze one for me.

I've had the fourth from the top on the right hand row. A chili infused dark chocolate I believe. Is that one still available to snatch the next time I come over?

Natty Lite - what do YOU think? Those bad boys were gone about a day after I opened them.

Sparrow - Christopher Elbow, how do I love thee? Let me count the know, you can order his stuff on line. I know, I know - you don't get the First Fridays experience, but you DO get a chocolate fix if in dire need...
